Thousands of Years Ago
October 30, 2001

"Feed my sheep:"

Thousands of years ago Jesus came here for a reason, He came here to lived, worked and walked with people He loved. He also knew His time was nearing at hand, so He repeatedly told His disciple to feed His lamb. "So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, loveseat thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yes, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, loveseat thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep." ST. John 21: 15-17.

He saith unto him, Feed my sheep." ST. John 21: 15-17.

The Master was worried about His garden that He was about to leave behind, and He was making sure that His friends and family know how important this was to Him. "Feed my sheep." He said.

I am just a rose in His garden and so are you, what fragrance are you giving off? The Seventh-day church I attended while living in the Grand Bahamas was located at the (8) mile rock area. There was a brother who used to make it his duty to let people know just how rich he was. We used to congregate after service, greeting each other, and he would just pull out his wad (money) and started counting. Bragging about how much money he made that week driving taxi. While right in the church, there were people from his country who was starving and living in fear of being deported. I always wondered why don’t he just help at least one of them? He is showing off with his money, and he has connections. He could help them with some food or some clothes to wear; so why don't he do that? I knew that they needed help, I see some of them almost every day, I was field with disgust with this chap. What a waste I said!

God does not smile on every one at the same time, nor does He love the rich and hate the poor. To be honest, I had no pleasure being around this fellow; then I though who am I to pass judgment on people? The way this man look in my eyes, is the same way I looked in the eyes of the Lord, whenever I disobeyed Him. I am in no wise better off than this brother, for I am a sinner just as he is. Oh yes, the more I think of it, I am more convinced that I am worst.

God did not put me on this earth to be judge over anyone. This brother is totally responsible for those things that he does with his life, and I likewise will have to give an account to God for my evil deeds also. I had to smile to myself as I sat there in church and started writing this lyric. >

The road is so rough:

(verse 1)
The road is so rough,
And my load is too heavy,
And now I feel like giving up.
Then I remembered,
That Jesus died for men,
For rugged travelers like me.

(Refrain)
Although some flowers,
Faded on your way,
All your nights he will turn to day.
When you get weary,
You will hear someone say.
Take up your cross and follow me.

(verse 2)
You have lived too long,
In your selfish world of pride,
But don’t be ashamed
To claim the promise Lord.
His eyes are watching,
Over each little sparrows,
He must be watching over you.

(verse 3)
You boast of your wealth,
But you forgot your
Starving neighbors,
Yet around your neck,
You hang the world.
The rainbow stretches,
Down to the valley, Gods love
Covers all the mighty seas.

As Jesus our Savior, was hanging there on the cross between those two thieves; it was the symbol of shame and disgrace. Yet He looked down with compassion on those who were very close to Him, while He traveled His earthly journey. Even then He thought not of Himself but of those whom He loved so dearly. "When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple standing by, whom He loved, He saith unto His mother, "Woman behold thy son!" Then saith he to the disciple, "Behold thy mother!" and from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home. ST. John 19: 26,27.

Some day that same Jesus who hanged on that cross, He will be returning to set the captives free. Someday He will be returning to set the record straight. Someday He will be coming back to redeem the ransom unto Himself, to live with Him for all eternity. Some may think that they had never been captives in their lives, so that does not include them. But one way or another, we are each one of us, we are captive to some one or something, like it or not.

To find out the truth we have to go back to the incident in the Garden of Eden, where Satan has held us captives.

There was only one way to settle the score and that is a ransom must be paid in full. It could not be paid with silver, with gold, with lands, with cattle’s, with the blood of turtledoves, not with some spotless four-footed lambs. No, but with the life of a sinless person. At that stage, Satan thought that he had won the battle, for there was not one such person to be found anywhere on this earth. He has seen to it that that would not be possible when he brought Adam and Eve down. Victory was his he thought and the jeering and the celebration started, as he and his rebel warriors, taunted the Father and His Son….This earth and all that is in it is mine for keeps, so stay out of my domain; Holy ones! Ha, ha, ha!

As the Father and His Son sat in council, they looked over the blueprint of creation and low and behold, they found out that there is a backup generator that would restore light upon this earth. The Son, the Prince of peace, He would put hope into human’s lives once more should in case the world and its inhabitance were plunge onto darkness.

Peter writes. "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world. 1st Peter 1: 18-20.

The True Governor:

The devil was shocked when the speedy heavenly messenger dropped a copy of the blueprint of creation on his desk. It read thus "I am that I am" is the QC, (Queen’s council),

"I am that I am" I am the Attorney for Adam and Eve and for all of their seeds. Oh by the way, I am that I am" if needs be, I will take their place on the cross, see you in court Lucifer!

Things had not turn out the way that he wanted it to, and the battle in heaven was still fresh in his mind, O how he trembled with great fear. He tried everything that he could to stop Jesus from going to that cross, when he instructed Herod to slay all the first born males in Judaea. "And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel." ST. Matthew 2: 5, 6. Herod thought that he was doing this to protect his throne but little did he know that it was the master plan of the devil.

The devil did not give up even when the Savior said; "it is finished." He still did not get it! He did not get what Jesus was saying to him. Jesus was telling him fellow, it is out of my hands now; everything is up to my Father. I have obeyed Him, in all things which He commanded me to do.

Satan was in big trouble but he was blinded with jealousy and hate, so he missed what Jesus was talking about. Man, you have to deal with my Father; it is out of my hands!

It was quite unusual at the site of the tomb, for armed soldiers were place on guard 24 hour each day. Satan was making sure that the body of Jesus would stay in that tomb until it decayed. However records shows how wrong he was with that also.

Is it not amazing to know that what was impossible for us to do in a lifetime, it only took the Savior three days to accomplished? To the cross where His Father turned His back on Him, and from the tomb where the angel of life called Him by His name with the authority of His Father to come forth.

O what a morning! That faithful Sunday morning after He carefully folded His blaming raiment of death, and put on the new garment which the angel brought to Him from Glory. Satan and his angels were overpowered by the magnitude of the Glory of God that accompanied the angel from heaven.

On Friday afternoon the words were "It is finished".

But Sunday morning brought a new beginning to the Earth and its inhabitance. "He is risen!" Christ brought hope to us, from the dungeon of eternal doom, to the mountain of life everlasting. And Mary what about her? Sure she weep when she saw her beloved son hanging on the Cross, and what made it even more sorrowing it was the cross of a thief, a shameful death. But weep not for Him mother Mary, He is hanging there now so that you and the rest of the world will live forever; weep not for Him dear mother. When He return He will wake you up from your slumber, and take you home with Him to glory. I can even feel the chill as I write about this. What a grand reunion that is going to be, when mother’s eyes shall behold her son coming in the clouds of Glory with authority!

He won't be coming with blood flowing from His side or a Crown of thorn upon His head. When He return, He will not be warped in burial clothe; oh no sir! He will be dressed in His royalty; never has mortal eyes seen before. His sparkling crown far out valued all the crowns of earthly kings put together; even that of Salomon's. His robe also, there will be no price tag on it ether.

Oh I want to behold Him as my Lord and King; I want to behold Him with joy, when He shall return to this earth again; O tell me dear friend, what about you? Is that your hope also?
